The Padon Refuge, at an altitude of about 2400m, is situated opposite the Marmolada glacier. It can be reached fairly easily in about an hour from the Fedaia Pass that separates the Val Pettorina (Rocca Pietore, Province of Belluno from Canazei, Province of Trento).

The Padon Refuge can also be reached by chairlift from the Belluno side, which starts out just before you come to the Pass. It can be a departure point for a number of hikes, and for the more experienced, for a ferrata offering spectacular views opposite the Queen of the Dolomites: the Marmolada.

The refuge sits at the foot of the Queen of the Dolomites, the Marmolada, at the Fedaia Pass it takes its name from, east of Fedaia Lake, in one of the most uniquely beautiful settings in the Dolomites.

In summer it is one of the stages on the Alta Via delle Dolomiti n° 2 high mountain route, and the Passo Fedaia Refuge is an excellent base for hikes on the Queen of the Dolomites, as well as relaxing walks by the lakeshore. In winter, the heavy snow makes it a popular destination with skiers, since it is close to the “La Bellunese” and “Padon” runs.
